About Us
It all started in 1975.
My parents, Richard & Mary, opened their first shop in February that year, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. I learned to cut glass by age 11, and knew that I wanted to be a part of the company my parents were building.
By the time I was 16 years old, we had moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, and began to broaden our services. Instead of just windows, we offered table tops, store fronts and custom shower doors. We tried to fulfill as many needs as we could.
Forty years later, we have become more than a company; we're a family business: my wife Beth and I opened Tri-City Custom Glass in May of 2010. We've continued expanding our business, offering entry doors, screened porches, hardware, and closet shelving. Owning and operating our own business hasn't been easy, but we've grown over the past five years, and we hope to continue to meeting the needs of the Tri-Cities area for many years to come.
